Russia's Foreign Ministry says Ukraine and Western countries it backs were responsible for a car bomb that wounded a Russian writer. Zakhar Prilepin, a novelist known for his pro-Russian war in Ukraine, became the third prominent pro-war figure to be targeted by a bombing since Moscow's large-scale invasion of its neighbor.

The blast occurred at a time when Russia is being hit by an increasing number of drone strikes, sabotage and attacks, but it is not clear who is responsible.
