Morocco confirms the safety of strawberries exported to Europe. On Monday, the Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture denied rumors of “contamination” of strawberries.

This came in a statement by the Ministry after allegations were circulated on social media about the presence of the hepatitis A virus in Moroccan strawberries. In late February, Spanish and French farmers intercepted - over a period of days - Moroccan trucks loaded with vegetables heading towards Europe or to the local market. These developments come after escalating farmer protests in several European countries to demand what they describe as financial rights.
