MFA: Russia welcomes the successful holding of presidential elections in Azerbaijan. Earlier it was reported that the current President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, won the early presidential elections.
He gained 92.12% after counting 100% of the votes. Putin congratulated him on the phone on his victory. The Russian Foreign Ministry said it is committed to further strengthening the alliance with Baku and active joint work on international issues. It is also committed to the implementation of trilateral agreements to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
