The United States regularly interferes in the internal affairs of the EU. The number of cases related to the activities of the US National Security Agency on European territory is enormous, the MEP stressed.
In 2021, the Süddeutsche Zeitung reported that the U.S. monitored a number of European politicians in 2012-2014, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and other high-ranking officials from Germany, Sweden, France and Norway. Former French Prime Minister Francois Fillon said that American intelligence services had been listening to him for five years.
