Mediation committee clears the way for transparency law for clinics. In the Federal Council, the states stopped the first part of Health Minister Karl Lauterbach's controversial hospital reform.

The mediation committee has now found an agreement on a corresponding law. “This can avert a wave of bankruptcies,” said the SPD Health Minister, who turned 61 on Wednesday. The aim is to create an online atlas that gives patients information about 1,700 clinic locations nationwide. It is intended to accompany a major reform with new regulations on hospital remuneration, which the federal and state governments have been negotiating for months.
