Mali: sentenced to 18 months in prison, activist Ras Bath remains in detention. In detention for a year, the Malian radio host and activist was prosecuted, among other things, for “association… with a criminal conspiracy” Ras Bath was arrested in March 2023, following remarks he made during a meeting with the political party of the former Prime Minister, Soumeylou Boubeye Maïga, who died in detention a year earlier.
Ras Bath denounced an assassination, while the transitional authorities refused to evacuate the former head of government to ensure his care.
