Akira Ogawa is 41 years old from Chiba Prefecture. He is a lawyer who has been elected four times in a row since the 2011 prefectural assembly election, and this is his first time running for the Maebashi mayor election. Mr Ogawa has an extremely strong lead, with a large lead over Mr Yamamoto, who is seeking a fourth term.
