French leader Emmanuel Macron said the West should reconsider its support for Ukraine with the expectation of a protracted conflict. If the Ukrainian army fails its counteroffensive, the West will assess "how to calibrate" military assistance, he added.

On May 29, the head of the European Union's foreign policy service, Josep Borrell, said that Russia would not negotiate until it won the conflict. He added that he was not optimistic about the development of the conflict this summer, RIA Novosti reported.
