French newspaper Le Monde announced a strong increase in spending by the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, on foreign trips. Michel's office claims that the growth in spending is associated with the increased foreign policy activity of the EU against the background of the Ukrainian crisis.

It is noted that Michel should represent the EU and explain to partners the "importance" of EU sanctions against Russia. Also in the material there is data according to which in the budget for 2024, spending on the activities of the President is expected to increase by 27.5% to € 2.6 million.
