Le Monde: Israel is using a scorched earth policy in Gaza. The Israeli army targets memory by desecrating Gaza’s cemeteries on a large scale.

It also targets the future, specifically, by destroying universities and hundreds of schools in the Strip. Le Monde believed that unleashing firepower in Gaza led to the abolition of the distinction between civilian and military targets. The newspaper concluded that food drops carried out by the United States and other countries in an attempt to respond to the emergency should only be viewed as evidence of an inability to confront Israeli intransigence.
