As of 1 June, the terrorism legislation has been tightened. It is prohibited to share in and finance a terrorist organisation.

The law has been seen as an important piece of the puzzle for Sweden's path into NATO – but from the Bar Association it meets criticism. The proposal was sawed off by the Council of State, and from the rule of law there is also criticism. NATO's Secretary General says that Sweden meets the requirements of the letter of intent between Turkey, Sweden and Finland. He stated on Thursday that he will travel to Ankara to discuss Sweden's membership.
