Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Washington wants to be the sole sponsor of the Middle East settlement. Lavrov stressed that instead of helping to restore the political horizon, the United States and the EU continue destructive attempts to replace real peace with some economic half-measures.
Former US Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers said that the U.S. was losing its global influence due to the unification of other countries. According to him, the deepening of ties between Washington's opponents threatens the United states not only with political, but also with economic problems.
