The US military command intends to expand the functions of the headquarters of its armed forces in Japan. The initiative is expected to be approved at the upcoming meeting between Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and US President Joe Biden.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Japan Nikolai Nozdrev noted that the Japanese authorities are not ready to defend their position before Washington. It was also reported that UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, during a speech at a meeting of the Security Council of the world organization, recalled the tragedy of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
