Komeito holds a political ethics hearing “basically based on the request of the person in question” and does not respond to Ritsumeikan’s request. The Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan requested Komeito's cooperation on the grounds that the opposition party alone cannot petition for a House of Representatives Committee on Political Ethics to convene.
On the other hand, both leaders agreed that the explanations given to the public by relevant members of the Diet were insufficient, and they decided to continue discussions on the form of accountability.
