Juan María Uriarte, bishop emeritus of San Sebastián, admitted to the ICU due to a stroke. He was born in Fruniz, Bizkaia, on June 7, 1933 and was ordained a priest on July 28, 1957.
He has a degree in Theology from the Pontifical University of Comillas and in Psychology from the University of Leuven. Uriarte was named Auxiliary Bishop of Bilbao on September 17, 1976 and consecrated Bishop on October 11 of that same year and then Bishop of Zamora on October 17, 1991.
