Japan invests another 3.6 billion euros in semiconductors. Japan dreams of making up for a gap of around ten years on the Taiwanese TSMC and the South Korean Samsung.

Japan convinced TSMC to build on its soil two to four foundries for the future generation of chips of barely two nanometers, enough to concentrate 50 billion transistors on the size of a fingernail. TSMC wants to diversify its industrial capacities in Japan above all, but also in the United States and Germany.
