Japan announced the resumption of its funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) The agency's role cannot be dispensed with in confronting the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip as a result of the war. UNRWA has been under Western pressure since Israel accused 12 of the agency's 30,000 employees of participating in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7th.

About 15 countries, led by the United States, announced the suspension of their funding to the agency.
