Italy: journalists from the Agi agency mobilized to defend press freedom. Supported by the National Federation of the Italian Press, the left-wing opposition and various intellectuals, the journalists of Agi are mobilizing, between strikes and demonstrations.

According to current negotiations, Agi, founded in 1950, could be sold for 40 million euros without a call for tenders, while the agency receives public funds. Agi employees still hope that the new European law on media freedom will protect the independence of the press agency.
