The basin of the Trevi Fountain in Rome was colored black on Sunday. Activists said the deaths of 14 people in floods were a "warning" about climate change.

More than 36,000 people have been displaced as a result of the floods in the Emilia-Romagna region. The equivalent of six months' worth of rain fell in the region in just a few days. The floods are the worst in the area since the 1930s, when the region was hit by a series of devastating floods.
