Hundreds of Israelis demonstrated in central Tel Aviv and in the cities of Haifa and Rehovot. Demonstrators demanded the overthrow of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government and the holding of parliamentary elections.
The protesters demanded that the government accelerate the return of 136 Israeli prisoners held by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza. Since last October 7, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza that, as of Saturday, left 27,238 martyrs and 66,452 injured, most of them children and women.
