Israel will facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid through the new sea corridor. Earlier, British Foreign Minister David Cameron said that the United Kingdom would join the maritime corridor for Gaza.

The initiative will increase the supply of aid to residents of the enclave "after security checks are carried out in accordance with Israeli standards," the Israeli Foreign Ministry said. The creation of the new maritime corridor was announced on March 8 by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. The corridor will run between Cyprus and the Palestinian enclave.
