Israel to establish a day of remembrance for the “catastrophe” of October 7. A ceremony will take place for fallen soldiers and another in memory of murdered civilians.

On October 7, Hamas commandos infiltrated from Gaza carried out an unprecedented attack in southern Israel. At least 1,160 people were killed, the majority civilians, according to an AFP count based on sources. According to an Israeli army count, 249 soldiers have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of the military operation.
