Director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, confirmed on Monday that Israel had refused him entry into Gaza. He said he was informed an hour ago that his entry was refused, pointing out that famine was imminent in the northern Gaza Strip.

Earlier this month, UNRWA accused Israel of torturing a number of its employees whom it arrested against the backdrop of the war launched by Israel on the Gaza Strip, which is now 164 days old.
