negotiations for a truce between Israel and Hamas are at a standstill. In Gaza, the humanitarian situation is catastrophic and more than 30,000 people have died since the start of the conflict.
The war could even intensify during this holy period for Muslims. A Hamas leader has already called on all Muslims to go to the Al-Aqsa mosque from Monday. The main point of tension during Ramadan is Jerusalem and in particular the very symbolic Esplanade of Mosques, the third holiest site in Islam.
