US Representative Nancy Pelosi is calling for a stop to US arms sales to Israel. She joined 36 other congressional Democrats on Friday in signing a letter to Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The letter also calls on the government to launch its own investigation into the Israeli airstrike that killed seven aid group World Central Kitchen workers on Monday. Pelosi is one of the best-known politicians in Biden's Democratic Party. In November 2022, she gave up the important position as Speaker of the US House of Representatives after the change in the majority.
