Israel employed artificial intelligence to identify 37,000 targets in Gaza. British newspaper The Guardian quoted informed intelligence sources that Israel relied in its bombing of Gaza on a database supported by artificial intelligence.

The newspaper pointed out Israel's use of an artificial intelligence system called "Lavender," which allowed Israeli military officials to kill large numbers of Palestinian civilians, especially during the first weeks and months of the war. The Guardian emphasized that the use of artificial intelligence techniques raises a range of legal and ethical questions, and brings a shift in the relationship between military personnel and machines.
