Intensive visits and meetings are being conducted by mediators from Doha, Cairo, and Washington to formulate an agreement that leads to a prisoner exchange deal between Hamas and Israel. According to officials familiar with the direct and indirect talks between the five parties - Egypt, Qatar, the United States, Israel and Hamas - the talks are generally positive, but a deal is not imminent.

The framework calls for the first stage of releasing civilian prisoners, starting with the remaining children, women, and the elderly, over a period of 6 weeks.
