There is still low demand in Iraq for electronic payment cards. Hoarding inside homes is a phenomenon, indicating that the hoarding of Iraqi currency does not exist. The Central Bank of Iraq announced that the Iraqi Council of Ministers’ Decision No. (23044) for the year 2023 had entered into force, which was to increase the number of electronic payment devices in government institutions and private sector.
