Iran expert Arvin Khoshnood believes that the execution was expected. He is worried that more international prisoners may be executed – unless the outside world reacts forcefully. This is the second time this year that an EU citizen has been execution in Iran, Amnesty International Sweden says. The international community and the EU should reiterate their opposition to the death penalty in general, Amnesty says.
