The Finnish government has been in talks since 2 May. The biggest thorny issues are immigration and climate policy.

On Friday, the parties announced that they were moving closer to a solution. The Swedish People's Party is expected to raise the immigration issue on Saturday. The negotiations are expected to take an average of 1.5 months to reach an agreement, says Anna-Maja Henriksson, leader of the Swedish People’s Party. The Finns Party demanded that the negotiations be suspended if no agreement was reached by 18 p.m. the following day.
