An inspection technician in Uppsala County is suspected of having received bribes from eleven different people around Sweden to approve vehicles during inspections. The offences for which the technician has been charged were allegedly committed between 2020 and 2021.
The charges are part of a larger investigation in which a total of 37 people are suspected of giving or receiving bribes during inspections around Sweden. Another inspection technician, employed by the same company, was charged with similar crimes earlier this year. The company in question has conducted an internal investigation and fired or given them the opportunity to resign.
