Indonesian presidential election voting day is 3 days away. Latest opinion polls show that Defense Minister Prabowo, who has declared himself the successor to incumbent President Joko Widodo, has a large lead.

Concerns are being raised about the regression of democracy due to past human rights violations and the history of the pairing of vice-presidential candidates. Voting will take place three days later, on the 14th of this month, and the votes will be counted on the same day. If no candidate wins a majority, a run-off election between the top two candidates will be held this June.
