Birkagården is run by Visby Cathedral Parish in collaboration with Region Gotland, the Red Cross and Hela Människan. The date of the opening is currently unclear, the region said.
The region contributes with a service for one year and Visby Parish will have a deacon involved in the work. The deacon will be based in Visby and will help run the day activities at Birkagåriden. The day activities will take place during the day at the shelter.
