A court in the Chelyabinsk region sentenced 18-year-old Rustam Baizhumenov, who is accused of murdering a participant in a special operation, to 1.5 years in prison. The accused stated that he was simply defending himself and did not admit his guilt.
Now the Investigative Committee will look into the validity of the verdict. Previously, a case of attempted murder was opened in St. Petersburg after an attack on a SVO member. The deceased SVO soldier, 37- year-old Maxim Nikitin, was taken to the paramedic and obstetric center unconscious in September.
