German Foreign Minister Baerbock was interviewed by German media that he warned China not to intervene militarily in the Taiwan issue during his visit to China. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in Beijing on 17 April that China urges relevant parties to respect history and facts.
"We also hope that some politicians in Germany will fully understand the essence of the Taiwan Issue, earnestly abide by the one-China principle, and stop making irresponsible remarks," he said. The Taiwan issue is at the core of China's core interests, he added.
