In Lyon, a “refuge” bus initiative for women is launched. More than 80% of women say they have already been victims of sexual harassment in public places.
Lyon already records three to four times fewer attacks on its network in relation to the number of travelers compared to the national average. All drivers are trained to receive women in difficulty who can report directly to the bus drivers and to intervene and secure and process the request, explains Bruno Bernard, president of the metropolis of Lyon.
