A march "against the high cost of living" organized in Kinshasa was dispersed Saturday by the Congolese police. This march took place seven months before the presidential election.

Police fired tear gas and forcefully arrested at least a dozen people. "Life has become untenable, look at how the volume of bread has noticeably decreased. We demand change in Congo, social change," said Bindanda Bilisi, a father of six. The next single-round presidential election is scheduled for December 20.
