In China, the death of a teenager revives the debate on “children left behind”. In early March, 13-year-old Wang was found dead in an abandoned greenhouse in a village in Hebei, China, likely killed by students at his school.
Wang, like the three students suspected of his assassination, is in fact one of some 67 million young people, according to a report published jointly in April 2023 by Unicef and the Chinese National Bureau of Statistics.
