Hundreds of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip celebrated the first nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan by secluding themselves in a tent they set up inside a school they took refuge in. The Palestinians did not resort to praying inside mosques for fear of being targeted and due to the Israeli army destroying a large number of places of worship.
During the ongoing aggression since October 7, Israel destroyed 224 mosques completely and 290 mosques partially. Nearly two million Palestinians were displaced from their areas as a result of the Israeli incursion and bombing of homes.
