Hungary lifts its veto and unlocks 50 billion euros in European aid to Ukraine. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban had managed to prevent the unanimity necessary to approve this package during a summit held in December.

Orban is accused of using his veto of the aid package for Ukraine to obtain in return the disbursement of European funds that correspond to his country and that the EU has blocked due to doubts about the validity of the rule of law. And the tug of war has been constant ever since.
