Hundreds of stranded people of different nationalities are living in the streets, mosques and some schools of Port Sudan. They arrived there to escape the ongoing war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces in Khartoum since mid-April.

Some of those stranded sold fast food on the Corniche in an attempt to obtain a source of income to help them with daily expenses. A businessman allocated an entire building to house families unable to pay the monthly rent to be a residence in it for two weeks.
