Hong Kong: Deepfake scam cost company $26 million. Individuals defrauded around twenty million dollars from a multinational using deepfake technology to pose as senior executives of the company.

A deepfake is a video or audio recording made or modified using artificial intelligence. It has the potential for misinformation and misuse, such as deepfake images showing people saying things they never said. The victim worked in the finance department and the scammers posed as the company's UK-based finance director, Hong Kong media reported.
