Head of the CIS observer mission: Russian presidential elections were held openly and transparently. According to the Central Election Commission, Vladimir Putin wins the election of the head of state.

In second place is Nikolai Kharitonov with 4.3% of the votes, in third and fourth are Vladislav Davankov and Leonid Slutsky with 3.84% and 3.21%, respectively. Earlier, the leaders of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States warmly congratulated Vladimir Putin on his convincing victory.
