For several weeks, Haiti has been sinking into chaos. The capital Port-au-Prince has almost entirely fallen into the hands of gangs.

Around 60% of the population suffers from malnutrition. The prisons are full of prisoners who, in the vast majority (nearly 80%), have never seen a judge. The weakness of state institutions does not spare justice. The poorest state in Latin America and the Caribbean, terrorized by gangs, is sinking into an unprecedented crisis. The total absence of solid political structures has brought the country to the edge of the precipice.
