Benin will deploy 2,000 soldiers to help the Haitian police fight armed gangs in the country. Some 1,100 French people, including a large number of dual nationals, live in Haiti, according to figures from the Quai d'Orsay. The country has been plagued by renewed violence since the beginning of March, with several gangs having joined forces.
