[HIGHLIGHTS] Guangdong’s air quality has fully met standards for nine consecutive years, which will promote the construction of a world-class beautiful bay area

Guangdong has won the excellent ranking in the national pollution prevention and control assessment for three consecutive years. In 2023, the province's air quality compliance rate was 94.8%, ranking second in the country in terms of improvement.

The province's rural domestic sewage treatment rate has exceeded the national tasks assigned to Guangdong two years ahead of schedule. The water quality rate of surface water national examination sections has reached 91.9%, and all sections inferior to Class V have been cleared. The area ratio reached 92.3%, the highest level since monitoring and evaluation began.
