Greece allows marriage and adoption for same-sex couples. The country becomes the first Orthodox Christian country to give these rights.

Of the 254 deputies present in the unicameral parliament, 176 voted for, 76 against and two abstained. Most of the bitter debate which has agitated the country in recent weeks has concerned the question of parenthood. In France, only 4,000 opponents, led in particular by the far-right Niki party, found themselves in front of Parliament on Sunday.
