Mads Pedersen becomes 104th rider in history to win in all three Giro d'Italia events. Belgian Remco Evenepoel falls twice but recovers to finish second overall.

The sixth stage of the Giro takes riders to Pompei, the foot of Vesuvius and the sublime Amalfi Coast. The finish will be judged at 2,130 meters at the top of the Gran Sasso d’Italia, after a very long climb of 26 km.
