Germany's Nico Denz wins the 12th stage of the Giro d'Italia in Rivoli. Britain's Geraint Thomas is able to walk quietly in his pink leader's jersey.
Four more riders retire after only twelve stages in this 106th edition. The first major mountain stage will take the riders on Friday to Crans Montana, Switzerland. The stage will be a little less difficult than expected since the riders will not go to the top of the Col du Grand-Saint-Bernard because of too much snow.
