The AfD has been trying since 2017 to bring a parliamentary group representative to the presidium of the Bundestag. The vote against MP Gereon Bollmann was now clear.
The AfD is also still not represented in the parliamentary control committee responsible for the secret services. Several state associations of the AfD are being observed by the constitutional protection authorities as suspected cases due to right-wing extremist activities of their party members. A decision on the matter will probably only be made in a few months.
